Helen is a Consultant at Chapman Tripp with over 40 years of experience in commercial and public law, including 20 years as a partner. Recently, she has advised on central government funding for local council responses to North Island weather events.
In the decade following the September 2010 Canterbury earthquake, Helen’s practice focused on the Canterbury recovery and rebuild. She was seconded to EQC as Legal Counsel, handling legal issues arising from EQC's building and land insurance claims, repair processes, and involvement in the Residential Red Zones.
Helen is a key member of the team representing GNS Science in WorkSafe's investigation and prosecution following the 2019 Whakaari eruption. Her work includes advising on health and safety and emergency management legislation.
