Nicola is a Partner in Chapman Tripp’s Dispute Resolution and Climate Risk practices in Wellington, with a strong focus on climate change risk and reporting. She is a recognised leader in this field.

Nicola excels in climate-related disclosure (CRD) reporting, advising government bodies and regulated entities, including banks, insurers, and fund managers. She assists with climate risk assessment, CRD, emissions targets, and related litigation risks, and regularly advises on sustainability governance.

She represents clients in New Zealand courts on climate change issues, such as tortious duties and greenwashing, and in international human rights cases regarding state-level climate obligations.

In the past three years, Nicola has co-authored New Zealand legal opinions and guides on fiduciary duties and climate risk for boards, fund managers, and trustees.
