David Norman

David Norman is GHD's Chief Economist for Australia and New Zealand, working with councils and communities on the economic challenges shaping the future of infrastructure, growth and investment. With nearly 20 years of experience and more than 700 economics and strategy projects across New Zealand, as well as five years as Chief Economist at Auckland Council, he brings both firsthand local government experience and deep insight into the issues facing councils, from funding and affordability to resilience, growth, infrastructure reform and long-term planning. David is known for making complex economic issues accessible, helping decision-makers understand not just the costs of investment, but the value it can create for communities and future generations.
