An experienced Architect, Matt leads the Warren and Mahoney Architects sport and recreation team in New Zealand and is a director of the International Association for Sports and Recreation – Australia/New Zealand Section. Matt is deeply involved in shaping the future of sports and recreation through architecture. His leadership in moulding projects that focus on inclusivity, sustainability, and cost-efficiency shows a strong commitment to not just the physical spaces, but the social impact these spaces have on the communities they serve.

With roles that encompass international stadia, high-performance sport and grassroots sports venues, Matt expresses a broad understanding of how sports architecture can serve diverse needs, from elite athletes to local participants. With a diverse portfolio of sports project typologies Matt understands the underpinning commonality between them all that prioritises social impact.
