Mayor of Marlborough District Council
Nadine Taylor is serving her second term as Mayor of Marlborough. She entered local government in 2016, quickly rising to the position of Deputy Mayor, before being elected Mayor in 2022 and re-elected in 2025. As Mayor of a unitary council and ‘the best province in the country’, Nadine leads with a focus on resilience, having led storm recovery efforts in the Marlborough Sounds and championed climate-ready infrastructure. Nadine is committed to a thriving Marlborough - where communities are connected, the economy is future-ready and the natural environment is protected. Nadine was born and raised in Marlborough and brought up to value volunteering and public service - values that have stayed with her throughout her career. She brings to the role a deep understanding of Marlborough urban, rural and remote communities. Nadine has a degree in Political Science and History and a post graduate degree in History, from the University of Canterbury. Nadine and husband Graham launched a commercial crayfishing company, Legacy Fishing Ltd, in 1994. They have two adult sons.
