Tanya Winter

Chief Executive, Ōtorohanga District Council

Tanya Winter

Tanya Winter is a cheeky troublemaker with a big smile and a warm heart. Currently the “Chief Exciter” at Ōtorohanga District Council, she sees her role not as a job, but a calling.

Drawn to small, rural, remote communities, her career in local government has spanned over twenty-five years and has taken her to six different councils across Aotearoa. Tanya has helped them achieve their dreams and supported them through their most challenging times.

One of Tanya’s achievements while at Ōtorohanga has been taking the organisation from a CCC rating under the LGNZ CouncilMARK/Te Korowai assessment process to an A.

In her spare time Tanya participates in triathlon. She is about to represent our country for the third time at the World Triathlon Championship Finals in Wollongong.
