Mayors’ Taskforce for Jobs breakfast

The Mayors’ Taskforce for Jobs breakfast brings together elected members and CEs to take stock of the programme's progress and the road ahead. 

Since 2000, MTFJ has been connecting rangatahi aged 16–24 with employment, education and training across New Zealand. With over 8,998 people placed into sustainable work since 2019 and a social return of $5.60 for every dollar invested, the programme continues to demonstrate what is possible when local leadership drives employment outcomes from the ground up.

This breakfast provides a strategic update on the year, what has been delivered, where the programme is headed and what it means for councils and communities heading into the next term. It is also an opportunity to hear directly from the mayors and leaders who are making it work in their regions.
