National Public Rescue Equipment Officer, Surf Life Saving New Zealand

Pat Millar is the National Public Rescue Equipment Officer at Surf Life Saving New Zealand. Originally from Pupuke near Kaeo, she started her career as a nurse in Whangarei and then worked in corporate London for 18 years. After returning to Mangonui in New Zealand's Far North, she held various medical roles. In 2018, following the drowning of someone in her whanau, Pat became a staunch supporter of water safety and advocated for flotation devices to be installed at beaches
