Tim Jones is President of Living Streets Aotearoa, the national organisation advocating for walking and pedestrians.
He has had a long involvement in environment, climate and transport issues. He’s been a member of the Living Streets Aotearoa Executive Council since 2020. Previously, Tim served as the Convenor of the Sustainable Energy Forum, was a member of the Government's Vehicle Energy and Renewables Group. He has had a long involvement in Coal Action Network Aotearoa, advocating for the cessation of coal mining and usage in Aotearoa. Tim's dedication to community activism is evident in his involvement with the Save the Basin Campaign, where he co-convened successful efforts to oppose motorway flyover construction at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
As an accomplished writer, Tim's literary achievements include receiving the NZSA Peter & Dianne Beatson Fellowship in 2022.
